Sanitas, a healthcare company, wanted to overcome the limits of its on-premises infrastructure and improve the online experience for customers. By moving its customer-facing applications to Google Cloud Platform and using GKE, Sanitas aimed to give developers more self-service capability, reduce dependency on external providers, and speed up application delivery.

Google Cloud Platform implemented a cloud environment tailored to Sanitas’ needs, enabling teams to spin up and shut down environments quickly and autoscale applications as needed. The impact was significant: server provisioning dropped from 2–4 weeks to about 2 hours, developer effort fell from hours to just 5 minutes, and Sanitas also gained better cost transparency and improved total cost of ownership.
