Rentokil Initial, a global leader in pest control, hygiene and workwear services operating in 60+ countries, needed a scalable, secure IoT back end to grow its Connected services (PestConnect and HygieneConnect) beyond the limits of an on‑prem platform that could only handle ~1,500 control panels. To meet targets for thousands of customers and real‑time analytics, Rentokil partnered with PA Consulting and Google Cloud Platform.

PA and Google built a cloud IoT stack (App Engine, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Datastore, BigQuery) in about 12 weeks, delivering high throughput and low latency (test: 100,000 packets, 0% errors, <200 ms response). The solution doubled connected customer dashboards in three months, increased devices by 33%, added two countries to the service area, and enabled real‑time analytics that improved customer service and positioned Rentokil for further growth.
