Ryde Technologies Enhancing the customer experience and driving growth in new markets

Ryde Technologies, a Singapore-based transportation company with about 60,000 drivers, started as an on-demand carpooling app and needed a more scalable way to support expansion, real-time driver chat and tracking, and a transition from monolithic systems to microservices. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform, using services including Google Kubernetes Engine, Firestore, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud CDN, Dataflow, and Google Workspace to support its growth plans.

With Google Cloud Platform and partner Searce, Ryde migrated 1TB of data without downtime, achieved at least 99.9% availability, and cut message response times by 70%. The new setup improved real-time communication, enabled centralized authentication and single sign-on, and gave Ryde the agility to restart expansion into new markets while handling demand spikes without performance loss.
