Rush University Medical Center Transforming healthcare experiences

Rush University Medical Center, an academic health system in Chicago, wanted to improve the patient and caregiver experience by enabling care anywhere through digital tools. To support that goal, it turned to Google Cloud Platform and its Apigee API management platform to power the MyRush app, which connects patients, providers, and medical information.

Google Cloud Platform helped Rush build API-based microservices and secure access controls so the MyRush app could offer on-demand access to records, test results, prescriptions, appointment booking, symptom checking, and more. The impact included 20K API calls per month within eight months of launch, 250 analytics variables for better customer experiences, and less IT time spent on API management so teams could focus on care-delivery apps.
