A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Routard.com is the leading Francophone travel website, offering travel guides, tips, bookings and a growing community for about seven million monthly unique visitors. Faced with slow, ticketed on-premises operations, poor infrastructure oversight and deployment delays that hurt uptime and agility, the company needed a more flexible, fast-to-deploy platform to support continuous evolution and better user experience.
With Google Cloud (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Load Balancing and Stackdriver) and implementation partner Skale-5, Routard.com lifted and shifted its infrastructure, introduced monitoring and continuous deployment practices, and began moving toward cloud-native services. The migration improved monitoring and uptime to nearly 99.99%, cut infrastructure costs by 40–60% (pre-production costs down ~60%), halved time-to-market, and empowered the team to pursue new data partnerships and further cloud-native optimizations.
