Repl.it is a San Francisco-based collaborative online development platform for students and developers that grew rapidly to more than 1 million monthly active users. As its cloud-based coding environment scaled, Repl.it faced major challenges around securely running and deploying code, managing containers, and supporting demand from users in over 60 countries.

Using Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine, Container Registry, Cloud Memorystore, Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and the Google Cloud CLI, Repl.it built a scalable infrastructure that could automatically expand and contract with demand. Google Cloud Platform helped Repl.it support around 10,000 concurrent containers, speed up and secure builds and deployments, and improve user experience and team efficiency.
