Redfin is a next-generation real estate brokerage (founded 2006) that combines full-service agents with modern technology to serve 80+ U.S. metro areas. Initially “hand-stitched” maps for its site, Redfin needed to scale its mapping and location-based search capabilities to meet growing customer demand and better align agent and buyer workflows.

Redfin integrated Google Maps Platform into its website and mobile app to deliver location-centric features — draw-a-polygon neighborhood searches, place-of-interest lookups, driving-time estimates and traffic-aware navigation — making map-based search more efficient and cost-effective. The solution supports about 10 million unique monthly visitors, helped drive a 4% increase in completed Maps-based searches and contributed to roughly $25 billion in closed home sales.
