A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Rayark, a Taiwan-based game studio behind six major titles and more than 60 million downloads, shifted its focus from standalone games to social mobile experiences and needed reliable, scalable infrastructure to support networked features on iOS and Android. Initial container deployments with another provider suffered from poor documentation, failed deployments and limited bandwidth, making it hard to iterate quickly and deliver the social functionality players expect.
Rayark migrated to Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine, using containers, Google Cloud Storage and CI pipelines to manage user data, leaderboards and social interactions. The move sped up player-data downloads and game startup, simplified deployments, freed developers from infrastructure management, accelerated development and improved gameplay — enabling faster launches and better social experiences for players worldwide.
