Quby Energizing smart homes with APIs

Quby, a Dutch smart-home company, needed a scalable way to help utility providers integrate energy services and connected home technology into their customer offerings. Using Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee API platform, Quby built its Toon smart home service to connect utilities, developers, and third-party devices while keeping pace with rapid market change.

With Google Cloud Platform and Apigee, Quby standardized and managed its APIs, improved monitoring and security, and connected 26 internal services in weeks instead of months. The result was about five times faster development-to-launch cycles, with some updates dropping from several sprints and about €10,000 to a single sprint and roughly €1,000, helping Quby scale to more than 350,000 end users.
