PTTEP, Thailand’s national oil and gas company, needed a way to break down siloed data and modernize legacy, incompatible systems so teams across exploration, drilling, engineering, and support functions could share information in real time. PTTEP turned to Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee API management solution to build an API-first modernization program and create a centralized API Hub.

Google Cloud Platform implemented Apigee alongside a Google Cloud architecture using GKE, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery, enabling secure integration and reusable APIs across the business. The results were significant: PTTEP completed application modernization in under one year, cut API development time from at least three days to five hours, enabled one-click API deployment, and reduced API issue resolution time from a week to two hours.
