portto, a Taiwan-based blockchain tech company behind the Blocto crypto wallet, wanted a cloud platform that could scale quickly and keep user and transaction data secure as its global traffic and blockchain activity grew. Working with Google Cloud Platform, portto needed to support a simple, glitch-free experience for its 1.6 million users while handling volatile traffic surges and complex blockchain data access.

Google Cloud Platform helped portto deploy Blocto on Google Kubernetes Engine and Compute Engine, store NFT media in Cloud Storage, index blockchain data with Cloud Bigtable, and protect private keys with Cloud Key Management and IAM. The results included seamless support for 10X instant traffic spikes, lower file access latency, and transaction and asset records loading in under one second instead of around 20 seconds, while reducing operational costs and improving security.
