A Google Cloud Platform Case Study

Polydice Delivering mobile, personalized recipe-sharing

Polydice, the Taiwan-based developer of the popular iCook recipe app and website, needed to scale reliably as mobile use and social engagement grew. Their legacy cloud environment caused frequent stuck data queries, slow decision-making, and operational overhead, while they also wanted lower latency for local users and a platform that could support future AI and analytics ambitions.

Polydice migrated to Google Cloud Platform, adopting BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud AutoML, Dialogflow and other managed services to modernize infrastructure and build ML-driven features. The move eliminated query bottlenecks, cut costs, delivered roughly 10x better data stability, enabled faster social-media responses, and now supports about 5 million monthly users and 4.5 million downloads while providing a solid foundation to become an AI‑led company.
