A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Pluribus Labs is a predictive analytics firm that gathers and curates unstructured data—social media, mobile-location signals, earnings transcripts and public company information—to deliver actionable insights to investment professionals for risk management, portfolio construction and trade execution. The company’s prior cloud platform required heavy infrastructure management and lacked advanced data-mining tools, slowing time to insight and increasing operating costs.
Pluribus moved its pipeline to Google Cloud Platform, using Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Bigtable and Cloud Machine Learning to ingest, process and analyze diverse data and expose results via a customer API. The change halved social-media analysis time, cut operating costs by about 50%, freed 1.5 engineering FTEs for higher-value work, and accelerated delivery of more sophisticated, data-driven investment insights.
