Pimkie Moves fashion forward by migrating two data centers, 300 VMs, and 150 apps with Google Cloud and CGI

Pimkie, the French fashion retailer, needed to modernize an outdated IT environment and close two on-premises data centers while migrating about 300 VMs and 150 applications. To meet this challenge, Pimkie worked with Google Cloud Platform and CGI, using Google Cloud services such as StratoZone and Google Compute Engine to assess and plan the move.

Google Cloud Platform and CGI delivered a lift-and-modernize migration, moving workloads to the cloud, replatforming applications, and improving security and scalability. The project was completed in 12 months, replaced 60% of the IT infrastructure, and helped Pimkie save €300,000, a 70% reduction versus maintaining its on-premises data centers.
