The company chose Google Cloud Platform, using services including Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, and Cloud Pub/Sub to run its cloud-native backend and keep operations efficient.

Google Cloud Platform helped Philips Hue build a microservices-based, automated, multi-cluster architecture that can scale from 15 to 100 VMs per cluster and handle peaks of nearly 1,000 pods. The result was stronger reactivity for rollouts and incident resolution, dynamic scaling, and a 40% reduction in Device Management Cloud spend, with Philips Hue also projecting up to 40% more future cost savings through managed services, Tau VMs, and committed use discounts.
