Paxport Delivering first-class service with Google Cloud

Paxport, a UK travel and hospitality company that helps airlines and resellers sell ancillary services, was struggling with an on-premises infrastructure that couldn’t efficiently handle highly cyclical demand. As traffic spiked around peak travel seasons, its data centers sat underused the rest of the year, driving up costs and making it harder to stay agile. Paxport turned to Google Cloud Platform, using Compute Engine and related cloud services, to support record-breaking transaction volumes.

With Google Cloud Platform, Paxport migrated its services in stages to a scalable, resilient environment that could spin capacity up and down on demand. The results included cutting server costs, eliminating downtime during migration, and improving performance and stability; Paxport now regularly handles over 60 million transactions a day, up from about 10% of the time before to 60–70% after migration. Google Cloud Platform also helped Paxport increase release frequency from once a week to twice a day and free IT staff for R&D.
