A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
FriendTimes, a China-based gaming company with more than 139 million users, wanted to improve the quality, stability, and global delivery of its overseas mobile games. Its on-prem infrastructure was causing frequent downtime, slow connectivity, DDoS exposure, and high maintenance effort, so it turned to Google Cloud Platform for a more reliable, globally connected environment.
Google Cloud Platform migrated FriendTimes’ overseas game services to Compute Engine, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud CDN, Cloud Armor, and Cloud Monitoring. The result was a 20% reduction in infrastructure costs, game server stability improved from frequent outages to no VM-related issues after migration, network availability rose from under 99% to 99.99%, and DDoS-related service disruptions were eliminated.
