Case Study: Oddschecker achieves autoscaling and NoOps efficiency to handle peak betting traffic with Google Cloud Platform

A Google Cloud Platform Case Study

Preview of the Oddschecker Case Study

Oddschecker Global betting site solves scaling with a NoOps approach

Oddschecker is a UK-based odds comparison site operating in six countries that aggregates prices from 100+ bookmakers across 40+ sports. Its legacy physical data center constrained capacity and caused latency during demand spikes, so the company used its new B2B widget project, Oddschecker Connect, as a testbed to solve scaling and flexibility issues.

Working with Jetstack, Oddschecker rebuilt Oddschecker Connect on Google Cloud using Google Kubernetes Engine and Container Registry, enabling autoscaling and a NoOps approach that empowered developers to deploy and iterate quickly. The platform handled high-traffic events (500 ms–1 s uncached, 100–200 ms cached) without extra hardware, reduced upfront investment, and set the stage for a full cloud migration and advanced data tooling (Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery).
