NICO.LAB Revolutionizing stroke care with StrokeViewer, a cloud-based AI solution

Nico.lab, a Dutch health tech company, needed a way to help clinicians diagnose stroke faster and more accurately with its StrokeViewer tool. Working with Google Cloud Platform, the company built a scalable cloud-based infrastructure for processing large CT images and running AI models, without requiring hospitals to install additional hardware.

Google Cloud Platform implemented StrokeViewer on Google Cloud using TensorFlow, Compute Engine GPUs, GKE, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and related services to speed up image analysis to under three minutes. The solution reduced time to treatment by 29% and saved one Dutch hospital an average of 44 minutes from patient arrival to treatment, helping improve patient outcomes.
