Namshi Making the most of microservices with Google Kubernetes Engine

Namshi, one of the Middle East’s leading online fashion retailers, was struggling to manage a fast-growing microservices architecture across its e-commerce platform. Its small SRE team was spending too much time troubleshooting manual Kubernetes clusters, dealing with scaling errors during traffic spikes, and delaying upgrades because migrations were difficult. Namshi turned to Google Cloud Platform, specifically Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud SQL, to simplify operations and improve reliability.

With Google Cloud Platform, Namshi migrated its microservices to GKE, moved its primary database to Cloud SQL, and used Stackdriver dashboards for monitoring and transparency. The result was a one-click cluster provisioning process, faster upgrades, and more dependable scaling, which eliminated 50% of the SRE workload and cut infrastructure costs by 30%.
