Mutualser, a Colombian health insurance company serving more than 2.5 million people, needed to modernize its legacy on-premises IT to improve availability, scale efficiently, reduce costs, and better secure sensitive patient data. It turned to Google Cloud Platform, using services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Data Fusion, to support its digital transformation and patient services.

With Google Cloud Platform and partner Fortinet, Mutualser moved workloads to the cloud, strengthened security against DDoS and other threats, and centralized data analytics in BigQuery. The result: IT infrastructure OpEx dropped 40%, capacity increased 450%, system report generation accelerated from 5 days to 3–4 minutes, and monthly disruptions were eliminated by 216 hours, improving service speed and patient experience.
