Moniepoint Empowering the underbanked with access to cloud-based financial solutions

Moniepoint, a Nigeria-based business payments and banking platform serving underbanked SMEs and individuals, needed a reliable, scalable infrastructure to expand financial services across the country. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform, using services such as Google Compute Engine and later Google Kubernetes Engine to support its growing platform.

Google Cloud Platform helped Moniepoint build a hybrid, microservices-based architecture that can orchestrate more than 600 microservices, handle over 600,000 requests per minute, and process around 650 million transactions worth about $14 billion each month. As a result, Moniepoint now serves about 1.9 million businesses, has improved reliability and scalability, and has helped create more than 10,000 direct jobs while supporting broader economic activity across underserved communities.
