MKTECH Offering glitchless media streaming experiences to global users

MKTECH, a China-based smart device hardware and software provider for digital media, smart IoT, and smart manufacturing, needed to deliver glitchless digital TV, VOD, and IoT services to users around the world. As its customer base grew outside China, its on-premises infrastructure struggled with global bandwidth quality and traffic spikes, creating challenges for smooth media streaming and efficient operations. MKTECH chose Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud CDN, and Media CDN, to support its global services.

Google Cloud Platform helped MKTECH migrate its services to the cloud in six months and streamline its DevOps workflow with support from partner Baidao. Using GKE Autopilot and Cloud Load Balancing, MKTECH improved bandwidth quality, reduced operational workloads by 80%, and cut development time by 20%; Cloud GPUs also boosted video transcoding and decoding efficiency by 4–5x. The result was more stable, scalable streaming with fewer user reports and faster product development.
