Mirror Media Delivering timely and reliable news via the cloud

Mirror Media, a Taiwanese news media company with a print magazine and online news platform, needed a reliable way to deliver breaking news quickly despite frequent traffic spikes. To avoid the limits of an on-premise setup, the company chose Google Cloud Platform and worked with tools such as Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Run to support its high-traffic news service.

Using Google Cloud Platform, Mirror Media moved to a more serverless, automated architecture and added Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Build, Cloud Armor, and Security Command Center to improve scalability, deployment speed, and security. The result was greater stability with near-zero downtime during traffic surges, DDoS attacks that were almost eliminated, and software deployment times cut from about two hours to just 10–20 minutes.
