Micepad Connecting people through an interactive and personalized virtual event experience

Micepad, a platform for global virtual events, needed a way to reliably support conferences ranging from 20 to 5,000 participants while controlling infrastructure costs. After joining the Google Cloud for Startups Program and learning from the Google Developer Group community, Micepad moved from an all-VM setup to Google Cloud Platform services including Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Build, and Cloud CDN.

Google Cloud Platform helped Micepad implement autoscaling, automated deployment, and low-latency delivery for its event platform. As a result, Micepad now runs 90% on GKE, reduced annual server costs from about $100,000 to $40,000 for a 60% savings, and saves each developer about one hour per day by automating testing and deployment.
