Merkle Science, a crypto security company, needed to speed up development and reduce the burden of manual infrastructure work as it grew on Google Cloud Platform. Using Google Cloud services such as App Engine, BigQuery, and later Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), the team sought help optimizing its DevOps processes and building a more scalable architecture.

Google Cloud Platform, working with partner Searce, helped Merkle Science automate App Engine infrastructure, shift to Infrastructure as Code, and migrate its backend to GKE. The results were significant: release times dropped from about 30 minutes to under two minutes, latencies hit two seconds 99% of the time, and the company saved more than 1,000 people hours while freeing up about 10% of developer bandwidth.
