A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
MeisterLabs, the Germany‑based maker of MindMeister and MeisterTask, faced growing pains from running services on physical offsite servers: manual provisioning, high weekend costs, limited scalability and the need to keep customer data in Germany. With millions of users and a history of Google integrations, the company needed a secure, scalable cloud solution that wouldn’t compromise data residency or performance.
Partnering with Cloudwürdig, MeisterLabs migrated to Google Cloud Platform’s German region, adopting Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL and Cloud Load Balancing with autoscaling and live‑data migration testing. The move minimized downtime, ensured data stays in Germany, enabled instant scale up/down to match demand, and cut server costs by an estimated 30% through sustained‑use discounts.
