A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Mailjet is a European market leader in marketing and transactional email services, serving 100,000+ customers across 150 countries and sending up to 1.5 billion emails a month. Facing limits with hosted servers—no real-time scaling, inflexible billing, difficulty adding storage, and the need to meet strict data-security and IP-porting requirements—Mailjet needed a more technical and economic flexible infrastructure able to absorb massive, simultaneous peaks.
Mailjet migrated to Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Interconnect, Identity-Aware Proxy), moving to many smaller on‑demand VMs, porting its IPs into GCP, and centralizing processing and analytics. The result: pay‑per‑use scalability that handles peaks up to 20× normal load, faster development and real‑time reporting, ISO/GDPR-aligned security, and a doubling of email volume year over year while avoiding the cost of hundreds of reserved servers.
