Loyal Guru Taking control of retail data

Loyal Guru is a Spain‑based loyalty marketing cloud that helps retailers maximize sales by creating a single customer view, but it faced the common retail data challenge of unifying messy, high‑volume data from loyalty programs, e‑commerce and physical stores. The team needed a flexible, multitenant, high‑performance platform that non‑technical marketers could use without heavy DevOps or batch processing, and earlier NoSQL/Postgres approaches proved too slow and costly to maintain.

Loyal Guru built its data management and segmentation platform on Google Cloud with BigQuery at its core, plus App Engine, Firebase and Cloud Datastore for supporting services. The solution lets retailers run complex queries, segment customers, and deploy omni‑channel campaigns (integrated with POS) in seconds; it scales to terabytes and millions of rows, is customizable per client, reduces operational overhead, and helped Loyal Guru win major customers such as Spar and Euromadi while enabling future work with BigQuery ML.
