LG Electronics Establishing a hybrid cloud-based AI quality inspection platform at manufacturing sites with Anthos

LG Electronics, a global leader in smart home appliances, needed a way to improve quality inspection across many manufacturing sites while reducing the limits of manual and rule-based checks. Its Production Engineering Research Institute developed MAVIN-Cloud, an AI quality inspection platform, using Google Cloud Platform to help standardize inspection and support digital transformation across plants worldwide.

Google Cloud Platform enabled LG Electronics to spread the platform across more environments from the start, with stable service distribution and easier operations management. As a result, LG Electronics expanded the solution to more manufacturing sites and achieved a 95% reduction in defect detection errors, while also gaining the flexibility to apply the platform to any site and open up new opportunities with public services.
