Laurens, the largest care organization of its kind in Rotterdam, faced major staffing and budgeting pressures while serving thousands of older people across 30 locations. With data scattered across up to six on-premises systems, the healthcare provider lacked a clear, timely view of performance, making it difficult to plan shifts, manage beds, and make strategic decisions. Laurens worked with Looker and Google Cloud partner Xebia to modernize its business intelligence.

Looker, together with BigQuery on Google Cloud, gave Laurens a single integrated view of data across departments and enabled fast self-service reporting. The results included weekly budgeting instead of waiting six weeks, better staffing decisions, more efficient bed matching, and improved administrative accuracy—completed patient registrations rose from 40% to 90%. Looker also helped reduce costs by replacing expensive temp staffing and cutting inefficiencies across the organization.
