Laurens, the largest care organization of its kind in Rotterdam, faced major staffing and budgeting pressures as demand for care grew while resources tightened. With up to six on-premises data systems creating silos, Laurens struggled to access timely information across departments, making it hard to plan budgets, manage beds, and respond efficiently. To modernize its business intelligence, Laurens worked with Google Cloud Platform and partner Xebia, using BigQuery and Looker to unify data and improve visibility.

Google Cloud Platform enabled Laurens to migrate all data into BigQuery, giving teams a single source of truth for weekly budgeting, staffing, bed capacity, and patient registration workflows. The results were significant: empty beds and waiting lists were reduced, completed registration rates improved from 40% to 90%, and managers could find insights in seconds instead of waiting on slow manual processes.
