Kumu, the largest social entertainment app in the Philippines, needed a way to support rapid user growth, real-time live streaming, and better collaboration across its team. Using Google Cloud Platform along with Google Workspace, Kumu aimed to reduce outages, improve analytics, and keep the platform responsive for its global Filipino community.

Google Cloud Platform implemented solutions including BigQuery, Sheets integration, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud CDN to improve analytics, autoscaling, and low-latency streaming. The results included zero-downtime days, a drop in latency from 250 milliseconds to under 100 milliseconds, scaling time for major events cut from 15 minutes to nearly zero, and new user retention rising from 15% to 40%.
