Founded in Austria in 2019, fiskaly helps retailers comply with country-specific fiscalization laws through a seamless cloud-based solution. As it expanded in Germany and other markets, fiskaly needed a secure, scalable platform that could protect highly sensitive tax data, satisfy regulators, and handle rapid growth without becoming an infrastructure bottleneck. The company also explored Looker and other analytics tools to create new services from transaction data.

Looker is part of the broader Google Cloud stack supporting fiskaly’s growth, alongside managed services such as Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud SQL. With this setup, fiskaly scaled from zero to six million transactions a day in its first month and later to 20 million transactions per day, while securely storing about 30 terabytes of receipt data and winning German regulatory approval for its compliant cloud solution. Looker is positioned to help fiskaly turn its data into new customer insights and future products.
