Case Study: Kapten achieves faster deployments and improved customer service with Google Cloud Platform

Kapten Driving plans for expansion, with tools that put the development team in control

Kapten, the French private-hire vehicle company serving more than two million customers and 50,000 drivers across Europe, needed to scale its real-time ride-hailing platform, improve customer service, and support rapid growth. To do that, Kapten worked with Google Cloud Platform, using Google Kubernetes Engine and Google Cloud data services for its back-end and analytics infrastructure.

Google Cloud Platform helped Kapten migrate 135 microservices with zero disruption, build a faster data lake and warehouse with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Bigtable, and improve security with Cloud Armor. The results included deployments becoming twice as efficient, more than 25 deployments per day, response times reduced by up to 100ms, and data lake query execution time cut by more than 200x in extreme cases.
