Kakao Brain, a South Korean AI research and development company, needed a way to train its large-scale Korean language model, KoGPT, on massive datasets more efficiently. Working with Google Cloud Platform, the team sought infrastructure that could support rapidly growing AI workloads beyond its GPU-based environment.

Google Cloud Platform’s Cloud TPU provided the scalable machine learning processing Kakao Brain needed, enabling seamless large-scale training with no network downtime. The company cut one training task from seven days to one day using larger TPU pods, and was able to process 6 billion model parameters and 200 billion tokens more effectively, freeing the team to focus on AI research and model development.
