A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
JumpCloud, a Boulder-based startup that provides a cloud Directory-as-a-Service to connect and manage users, devices, and applications, needed an infrastructure that delivered massive redundancy, fast ephemeral VM provisioning, and global reach to keep its central service highly available across multiple cloud providers.
By adopting Google Cloud Platform—particularly Compute Engine via the Cloud Platform for Startups—JumpCloud found a short learning curve and much easier operations: projects now spin up in 2–3 minutes, global edge-server deployments take about 85–90% less effort, and fewer dedicated SysAdmins are required because developers can provision resources themselves. The move has accelerated their rollout and made GCP their “center of gravity” as they evaluate additional Google Cloud services.
