Juiced TV uses GCP to help improve the hospital journey for sick children

Juiced TV, based at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, creates weekly programs and activities to improve the hospital experience for sick children and their families. Facing the challenge of reaching regional hospitals without built-in patient entertainment systems, the team needed a way to deliver high-quality, tablet-optimized video and audio with minimal local IT overhead so staff could focus on care rather than maintenance.

Working with AginicX and Google Cloud Platform, Juiced TV launched a mobile app hosted on GKE with Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage and Stackdriver for monitoring. The cloud solution provided reliable, high-performance playback, a fully managed isolated environment that reduced administration, and the scalability to onboard regional hospitals — increasing access, stakeholder buy-in, and the program’s ability to create more inclusive experiences for children.
