J.B. Hunt executes speedy yet seamless cloud-to-cloud migration

J.B. Hunt Transport, a Fortune 500 transportation and logistics company serving North America, needed to rapidly move a large cloud environment with minimal disruption as it shifted to a multicloud strategy. The company worked with Google Cloud Platform and aimed to migrate critical Kubernetes, database, messaging, and web server workloads quickly while avoiding downtime.

Google Cloud Platform helped J.B. Hunt execute a near-flawless “big bang” migration after extensive planning, testing, and validation in development and test environments. In just 35 business days, J.B. Hunt migrated more than 1,000 virtual machines, 90 Kubernetes clusters, 915 nodes, 27,000 pods, and 500 databases with no outages or production impact, while also improving performance across the board and increasing its Apdex score by 10%.
