A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
Fix Studio is a Paris-based post-production studio that creates 2D/3D visual effects and color grading for major advertising campaigns. When a large multi-film ad campaign and feature-film VFX work landed, the studio faced limited on-premises render capacity (about 160 nodes), high rental costs and week-long deployment delays that threatened deadlines and studio space.
They partnered with Image in Network to run Maxwell rendering on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine) with Avere cloud caching so artists can spin up cloud render nodes with one click and work seamlessly alongside on‑premises machines. The move provided rapid, scalable capacity, eliminated rental lead times, delivered more powerful 32/64‑core VMs, and cut costs by about 10–50% (using preemptible VMs), allowing Fix Studio to take on bigger projects on budget.
