EBSCO, a long-time provider of research databases, e-journals, magazines, and eBooks, needed a better way to manage growing API sprawl and traffic spikes as more customers requested custom integrations. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform’s Apigee API Management Platform to help secure, govern, and scale its APIs while supporting future growth.

Google Cloud Platform implemented Apigee with built-in security, policy controls, analytics, and a developer portal so EBSCO could manage APIs more efficiently without building those capabilities in-house. The solution helped reduce the risk of traffic spikes, improve performance, and lay the groundwork for 15 planned APIs and future monetization opportunities through the portal.
