Hive Ventures Enabling a connected food ecosystem from farm to table with Google Cloud

Hive Ventures, a Thailand-based technology company founded in 2018, set out to build a food ecosystem platform that connects suppliers, restaurants, and customers through services like Hive Marketplace, Hive Restaurant Intelligence (RI), and Spoonwalk. As its digital platform grew, Hive Ventures needed a scalable, secure infrastructure that could handle traffic spikes, support multiple microservices, and protect customer data while improving operations and analytics.

Using Google Cloud Platform, Hive Ventures built a microservices architecture on Google Kubernetes Engine, supported by Compute Engine VMs, Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, Cloud Storage, MongoDB, and Looker Studio. Google Cloud Platform helped Hive Ventures simplify feature development across three apps, meet global data privacy standards, and scale to up to 3,000 transactions per second on GKE without downtime, while Cloud SQL now processes more than 100,000 transactions daily.
