Hilton HHonors wanted to improve digital check‑in and the room selection process for members by letting guests preview the exact view from a room and choose the best location, with the goal of enhancing the customer experience and boosting loyalty.

By integrating Google Maps Platform features—Street View and Indoor Maps—into the HHonors app (including a proof‑of‑concept iPhone build), Hilton enabled virtual room viewings, room-level selection and discovery of nearby points of interest across 4,600 hotels and resorts. The connected experience strengthened guest relationships, helped drive over 2,000,000 Android app downloads, and increased the likelihood guests will return and recommend Hilton.
