A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
High 5 Games, a leading developer of casino titles with nearly 2 million monthly players, faced mounting competitive pressure and charged its technology team with delivering best-in-class availability, performance, and operational flexibility to protect revenue. To meet those goals it moved from a managed cloud provider to Google Cloud Platform for a more stable, scalable global gaming platform.
On GCP the company adopted Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery and Rubrik for backup, plus Stackdriver/Datadog for monitoring, enabling zero‑downtime rolling deployments, real‑time analytics and ML‑powered LiveOps. The move cut infrastructure costs by more than 20% a year, saved about $300K annually by eliminating release downtime, freed roughly four FTEs for new initiatives, and helped drive double‑digit revenue growth (about 12% annually) with up to 10% additional revenue from analytics-driven personalization.
