HDFC ERGO, one of India’s leading insurers, was looking to expand its insurance superapp ecosystem and make insurance services more accessible across India. Working with Google Cloud Platform, the company used Apigee to connect a growing network of partners and services, while also exploring AI-driven ways to improve customer journeys and simplify insurance for users in urban, Tier 3/4, and rural markets.

Google Cloud Platform implemented Apigee, Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Natural Language AI to power integrations, personalize offerings, and build chatbot-style support in multiple Indian languages. In just six months, HDFC ERGO integrated 300+ services through Apigee, improving ecosystem scale and operational efficiency, while Google Cloud’s AI tools helped create more intuitive onboarding and policy experiences for underserved customers.
