Hare Digital, a Brighton-based software agency, needed a more scalable and reliable way to support ScorpionTrack’s real-time vehicle tracking platform, which processes tens of millions of data rows from nearly 100,000 vehicles. Hare Digital implemented a microservices architecture on Google Cloud, using services like App Engine, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Load Balancing to auto-scale and handle batch and streaming data efficiently. The result was a 78% reduction in infrastructure costs, a two-thirds cut in project costs by bringing DevOps in-house, and a launch in just five weeks instead of a 10-month migration, with over £70,000 saved on the project.
