Greenwheels Creating driver flexibility with a car sharing app built with Google Maps Platform

Greenwheels, a car-sharing company operating across hundreds of cities in the Netherlands and Germany, wanted to make urban mobility greener while improving a customer experience that relied heavily on phone bookings and complex vehicle location logistics. With Google Cloud Platform, specifically Google Maps Platform, Greenwheels needed a better way to help customers find, book, and navigate to cars at scale.

Google Cloud Platform implemented Google Maps Platform tools including the Maps JavaScript API, Maps Street View Service, and Google My Business to improve car placement and create a clearer in-app booking journey. The result was a 60% increase in app bookings, a doubling of the customer base in two years, and a reduction in call-center bookings from 80% to 2%, with more than 90% of orders now coming through the app.
