Gosu.ai Playing with preemptible VMs for faster delivery, more savings, and happier gamers

Gosu.ai is an esports training platform based in Lithuania that helps more than 500,000 active users improve their gameplay through automated analysis and personalized recommendations. As user demand grew, the company needed to scale quickly while cutting high infrastructure costs and handling spikes in traffic around game events, so it turned to Google Cloud Platform and Google Cloud services.

Google Cloud Platform helped Gosu.ai migrate its analyzer to Google Kubernetes Engine, using autoscaling and preemptible VMs to better match demand and reduce VM spend. The company also used BigQuery and Looker Studio for analytics and KPI dashboards, and Cloud Storage for replay files. As a result, Gosu.ai cut infrastructure costs by 80% and said its overall expenses fell by more than five times, while its 15 developers could work independently without a DevOps specialist.
