Google Cloud Platform Helps European Flash-Sale Leader Turn Insights into Action

Vente-Exclusive, the Benelux leader in online flash sales with 3 million members, was sitting on more than 100 million rows of customer data per month but couldn’t turn it into timely insight. Its analytics stack was fragmented and slow, making it hard to build new initiatives like sales-triggered emails or smarter product ordering — queries took hours or days and analysts spent as much as two days per week on manual reporting.

Datatonic implemented a Google Cloud–based analytics platform using Cloud Storage for raw data, Hadoop on Compute Engine for processing, BigQuery for fast analysis, and Tableau for dashboards. The new system delivers insights in minutes, automates reporting, and powers a customer ranking and recommendation engine that personalizes communications. As a result, Vente-Exclusive improved product relevance, reduced churn, and was able to reactivate roughly 30% of members who were at risk of leaving, boosting revenue.
