A Google Cloud Platform Case Study
GO-JEK, founded in 2010, is an Indonesian on-demand platform offering transport, logistics and payment services across 25 cities. Rapid growth—from a 100-person startup to ~2,000 employees—meant the company needed to scale infrastructure to support 15 service verticals, billions of daily events and integration with Google Maps, without diverting engineering effort to build and manage complex platform operations.
GO-JEK moved nearly all services to Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, BigQuery, edge proxies and microservices), automated provisioning and expanded regions while leveraging Google’s support. The platform now handles hundreds of thousands of concurrent transactions, more than 100 million internal API calls per second, processes 3–4 TB of event data daily, delivers ~50 ms response times and nearly 100% payment success—while avoiding the cost of a dedicated system administrator.
